Once you have both a domain name and a hosting account, you need to connect them so visitors who type your domain see your website. This is done by updating your domain’s nameservers or DNS records.
Method 1: Update nameservers (recommended)
If your domain is registered with MyDomains.tech, the simplest approach is to point your nameservers to our servers. This lets us manage all your DNS automatically.
- Log in to your MyDomains.tech client area
- Click Domains in the top menu
- Click on the domain you want to connect
- Under Nameservers, click Change Nameservers
- Replace the existing nameservers with our nameservers:
ns1.mydomains.techns2.mydomains.tech
- Save changes
Propagation typically takes 15–60 minutes.
Method 2: Update A records (for domains registered elsewhere)
If your domain is registered at another provider and you don’t want to move it, you can update just the A record to point to your hosting IP address.
- Log in to your existing domain registrar
- Find the DNS management section
- Locate the A record for your root domain (
@or blank) - Change the IP address to your hosting server IP (found in your MyDomains.tech hosting welcome email, or under Services in your client area)
- Save changes
How to find your hosting IP address
- Log in to your MyDomains.tech client area
- Go to Services > My Services
- Click on your hosting plan
- Your server’s IP address is shown in the service details
Checking if it worked
Once propagation is complete, you can verify by visiting your domain in a browser. If it shows your hosting account’s default page (or your website), the connection was successful.
You can also use an online DNS lookup tool (such as dig or nslookup) to confirm the A record is resolving to your server’s IP.
